The Length of my Body Beaded in a Circle on a Visited Land, 2019

This performance expands my beading practice through a land based action, repeating gestures of care through enacting methodologies and practices of beading on the land. This durational performance questions how to make land based work as a guest.

”For three hours Allison collected rocks from the shores of Middle Beach and relocated them on top of a near bluff. Deliberately and thoughtfully choosing rocks along the shore and hiking them up to the bluff, then placing them in a circle the diameter of the length of her body. Once the full circle was complete, Allison carefully returned the rocks back onto the beach.”
